Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Nuri, provided by Gentle Giant Labs, handles information when you use the Nuri mobile app and website.

Information Nuri Handles

Nuri is designed as a local-first app. The core app stores worship habit progress, routine preferences, coins, XP, streaks, room items, settings, reflections, reminder preferences, and similar app data on your device.

If you contact us by email or through the website contact form, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your name, email address, topic, device context, and message.

Optional Permissions

Nuri may request permission for notifications so it can send reminders you configure. If enabled, reminders are scheduled by the app based on your selected settings.

Nuri may request read-only access to Apple HealthKit step count data for features such as Tawaf step progress and related in-app rewards. If you grant permission, Nuri reads today's step count from HealthKit and uses it locally for app functionality.

Nuri does not write data to HealthKit, does not sell HealthKit data, and does not use HealthKit data for third-party advertising. HealthKit permission is optional and can be managed in the Apple Health app or iOS settings.

Widgets and Apple Watch

Nuri may share a limited local snapshot of your progress with its widget or Apple Watch companion experience so those features can display current app state. This information is used for app functionality.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate Nuri, save your progress, provide reminders, respond to support requests, improve the app, and maintain safety and reliability.

What We Do Not Do

We do not sell your personal information. The core Nuri app does not require an account. We do not use your worship habit history for third-party advertising.

Third-Party Links

Nuri may link to external Quran, prayer, or related apps and websites. Those services are not controlled by Gentle Giant Labs and are covered by their own privacy policies.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you reset it in the app, delete the app, or remove it through device settings. Support emails are retained as long as reasonably needed to respond to your request and maintain business records.

Children

Nuri is intended for general audiences and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through an account system. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will review the request.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Nuri changes. The effective date at the top of the page shows when this policy was last updated.
